DAY 2 ISTANBUL – CANAKKALE

Starts our journey towards Canakkale. See the amazing coastal view as we make our way along the shores of the Sea of Maramara. Cross the Dardanelles to Canakkale for the night. Picture taking with the iconic Trojan Horse (Waterfront) – which refers to a wooden horse said to have been used by the Greeks, during the Trojan War, to enter the city of Troy and win the war.

DAY 3 CANAKKALE – TROY – PERGAMON – KUSADASI

This morning, we will drive to Bergama which is approximately 2 hours of driving. Ascend by cable-car (weather permitting) to the site of ancient Pergamum, renowned in Hellenic and Roman times for its great library and as the medical centre where Galen laid the foundation for medical practice. The guide will conduct the walking tour of the ruins of the Acropolis. Next, we will continue our drive to the Aegean coastal town of Kusadasi.

DAY 4 KUSADASI – SELCUK – PAMUKKALE

Begin the morning in Selçuk with a visit to a renowned leather showroom and a brief fashion show. Enjoy a walking tour of Ancient Ephesus, one of the world’s most impressive archaeological sites and a former major Greek port city. Visit the House of the Virgin Mary, believed to be her final home. After lunch, continue to Pamukkale, famous for its stunning “Cotton Castle” terraces formed by mineral-rich thermal waters.

DAY 5 PAMUKKALE – KONYA – CAPPADOCIA

Explore the travertine terraces of Pamukkale and dip your feet in the thermal pools, then visit the ancient Roman spa city of Hierapolis. Travel to Konya, the historic Seljuk capital, to see the Mausoleum of Mevlana, the philosopher and poet behind the Mevlevi (Whirling Dervishes) Order, and visit Sultanhani, a classic Seljuk caravanserai. Continue to Cappadocia, “The Land of Beautiful Horses,” famed for its unique volcanic landscapes shaped over millions of years.

DAY 6 CAPPADOCIA

Explore Göreme Valley, shaped by volcanic erosion and home to the iconic “Fairy Chimneys,” then visit the Göreme Open Air Museum with its rock-cut churches dating back to the 6th century. Stop at the ancient village of Uçhisar and view Uçhisar Castle. Visit a Turkish carpet showroom to see traditional weaving, and an Avanos ceramic studio to learn about handmade pottery. After lunch, explore the mysterious Kaymakli Underground City, then enjoy dinner at a cave restaurant with a belly dancing and folklore show.

DAY 7 CAPPADOCIA – ISTANBUL

Optionally, take a hot air balloon ride over Cappadocia for unforgettable views, then catch a domestic flight back to Istanbul. Enjoy a leisure cruise along the Bosphorus, which separates Asia and Europe, followed by shopping at the historic Grand Bazaar with its 4,000+ shops (or the Spice Bazaar if closed). End the day with free time in Taksim, Istanbul’s lively hub for strolling, shopping, and sampling local snacks.

DAY 8 ISTANBUL

Tour Istanbul’s historic Sultanahmet district, starting with the Hippodrome, the Byzantine center for chariot races and ceremonies, featuring the Egyptian Obelisk, Serpentine Column, Column of Constantine, and Kaiser Wilhelm II Fountain. Explore the Basilica Cistern, a 6th-century “Sunken Palace,” then visit the Blue Mosque with its iconic Iznik tiles. Stop for photos at Hagia Sophia, and tour Topkapi Palace, the former residence and administrative heart of the Ottoman Empire.
