DAY 1 SINGAPORE - HANEDA

Assemble at Changi Airport for our flight to Haneda, one of two international airports serving the Greater Tokyo Area.

DAY 2 HANEDA - WAKKANAI

Upon arrival, meet and greet your local guide and begin the tour with a visit to Cape Soya, where you can enjoy views of both the Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Japan, and may even catch a distant glimpse of Sakhalin Island. Continue to the North Breakwater Dome, an impressive historical structure built to protect roads and railways from strong seasonal winds, which once served as a bustling hub for travelers on the former Sakhalin route.

WAKKANAI

DAY 3 WAKKANAI - RISHIRI ISLAND

Early in the morning, depart for Wakkanai Port and take the ferry to Rishiri Island (about 1 hour 40 minutes). Upon arrival, visit Senhoshi Misaki Park to enjoy the clear northern waters and stunning views of Rishiri Fuji, surrounded by uniquely shaped lava rocks formed during Mount Rishiri’s eruption. Explore the Rishiri Historical Museum, housed in the former Oniwaki Village Office built in 1913, with exhibits covering the island’s nature, Ainu heritage, modern life, and herring fishery history. End the day at Kamui Seaside Park, where a 20-minute walk along Charenka Path leads to Kamui Cape, offering panoramic views of the horizon, dramatic cliffs, and seasonal blooms of Ezo Kanzou flowers.

RISHIRI ISLAND

DAY 4 RISHIRI ISLAND - REBUN ISLAND

Visit Sumikai Cape on Rebun Island, a popular summer destination known for its cobalt-blue waters, scenic bays, and hiking trails that resemble a southern beach. Continue to Sukoton Cape, the northernmost point of Rebun Island, where coastal cliffs and, on clear days, distant views of Sakhalin and Haima Island Lighthouse can be seen; this is the starting point for the cape tour. Hike the Edo-ya Mountain Trail, lined with blooming alpine plants, and stop at the Steller's Island Observatory for panoramic views of Cape Sukoton; the paved trail is easy to walk. Afterward, take the ferry to Rebun Island (about 45 minutes) and explore Humenuma Pond, a serene swamp surrounded by forest that reflects Rishiri Fuji, with a 20-minute walking path perfect for birdwatching. End the day at Nekodai and Mododai, where Peach Rock and Cat Rock overlook the Flower Road, home to rich alpine flora designated as a national natural monument.

DAY 5 REBUN ISLAND - WAKKANAI - ASAHIKAWA - SOUNKYO

After breakfast, take the ferry from Rebun Island Port to Wakkanai Port (approximately 1 hour 55 minutes). After lunch, board the limited express train from Wakkanai Station to Asahikawa Station (about 3 hours 45 minutes). Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel in Sounkyo for check-in and overnight stay.

DAY 6 SOUNKYO - LAKE AKAN

Visit Ginga & Ryusei Falls, two of Japan’s 100 Best Waterfalls in Daisetsuzan National Park, where water cascades down a columnar rock face in multiple slender threads over 120 meters. Then take the Kurodake Ropeway to the 1,984-meter peak overlooking Sounkyo Onsen, offering easy access to Daisetsuzan National Park and scenic hiking opportunities. Later, explore Lake Akan National Park, one of Hokkaido’s oldest parks, known for its clear lakes, natural hot springs, and seasonal scenery, and enjoy a 30-minute Ainu cultural performance.

DAY 7 LAKE AKAN - OBIHIRO

Start the day with a serene canoe experience along the Kushiro River, a pristine waterway flowing from Lake Kussharo through forested wetlands, offering exceptional views of Akan-Mashu National Park and opportunities to spot local wildlife. Next, visit Tokachi Millennium Forest, featuring four gardens designed to last 1,000 years, blending seamlessly with the surrounding nature. Stop for a photo at Kofuku Station, a now-closed railway station whose name means “happiness,” made famous by a 1973 NHK travel program. End the day with a visit to ^Banei Horse Racecourse, the world’s only race where large draft horses, each about 1 ton, pull iron sleds weighing up to 1 ton along a 200-meter straight track.

Begin the day with a Special Arrangement Sheepdog Show (about 50 minutes), where visitors can enjoy demonstrations of the dogs’ intelligence, agility, and herding skills in a fun and interactive setting. Afterwards, transfer to Obihiro Station for the JR train ride to Sapporo Station (approximately 2 hours 50 minutes). In the evening, explore Susukino, Hokkaido’s largest entertainment district, famous for its vibrant neon lights, bars, clubs, karaoke boxes, and bustling nightlife—a perfect spot to experience the energy and culture of Sapporo after dark.

Stroll through the European-style courtyard, enjoy tea and sweets, and take in the beautifully landscaped grounds. Afterwards, explore Sapporo Fushimi Inari Shrine, known for its striking tunnel of red torii gates and reputation as a local “power spot” for energy and good fortune. Conclude the day at Mitsui Outlet Park Sapporo-Kitahiroshima, an all-weather shopping facility offering a wide range of brand-name products and local specialties.
