Welcome to Western Australia and Perth. Begin the day at Kings Park, one of the world’s largest inner-city parks, where you can enjoy panoramic views of Perth and the Swan River. Experience the scenic Tree Top Walk through the Botanical Gardens, featuring a mix of ground paths, an elevated walkway, and a steel-and-glass arched bridge. From there, continue with Perth city sightseeing.
Next, head to Fremantle to explore landmarks such as the Round House, Fisherman’s Harbour, South Terrace Cappuccino Strip, and Monument Hill. If visiting on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, enjoy the vibrant Fremantle Weekend Market, famous for its fresh produce, crafts, Indigenous art, live music, and street performances. The day concludes with a journey south to the resort city of Mandurah.
Embark on the Wild Seafood Experience with Mandurah Cruises, an interactive lunch cruise that immerses you in the region’s thriving and sustainable marine world. Try your hand at hauling in a Western Rock Lobster with guidance from the crew, learn about these fascinating creatures, and then enjoy a deluxe 7-course degustation lunch prepared on deck by a private chef. The menu features your freshly caught lobster and other local seafood, paired with fine wines from the renowned Margaret River region. As you cruise, take in Mandurah’s scenic canals and waterways, and watch for wild dolphins, pelicans, ospreys, and other wildlife.
After this seafood indulgence, we journey south to the Margaret River region, stopping at Busselton Jetty, the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere, before checking into our accommodation in Margaret River.
Start the day with a Whale Watching cruise at Augusta* (May–August), where guides share the fascinating life and history of humpback whales, and live underwater footage lets you enjoy close encounters from your seat. If whale season is not available, this experience is replaced by a visit to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse*, perched at Australia’s most south-westerly point, where the Southern and Indian Oceans meet.
Next, explore Jewel Cave, set among Augusta’s towering Karri forests. This well-decorated show cave features Australia’s longest straw stalactites, delicate helectites, cave coral, pendulites, a massive stalagmite called ‘The Karri Forest,’ and stunning flowstone formations such as ‘The Frozen Waterfall’ and ‘The Organ-Pipes.’
Indulge in a Nougat & Wine experience at Bettenays, sampling five premium wines perfectly paired with five nougat varieties, and then visit the Margaret River Chocolate Factory to taste an array of chocolates and watch them being made. Time permitting, enjoy some shopping and exploration in the charming Margaret River township.
